Yves Saint Laurent was completely enamored by Marrakesh when he visited in the 60's. So much that him and his partner purchased a small riad before they left. Can you blame him? Marrakesh is known for it's lush exotic gardens, beautiful fountains, specialty markets and rich culture.
This week a 43,000 square foot museum honoring the late designer and his work opened in the gorgeous city -- just a few steps from where Saint Laurent's ashes are scattered. CNT reports that Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakesh houses designer couture pieces, an outdoor cafe and terrace serving French cuisine, a photo gallery, an auditorium and a research library.
